Donna Tartt Is Fierce

I rarely search online for authors I love (I just read their books), but recently I googled Donna Tartt just because, and I discovered she is really fucking fierce? So fierce, NY Mag wrote about her style. So fierce, she was named one of Vanity Fair’s most stylish people in 2014. So fucking fierce, she even inspired a fashion designer’s line (the bottom pic is from the collection), and you know how much I love that!

She reminds me of Twin Peaks’ Audrey Horne (Sherilynn Fenn) all grown up, having said adios suckers to her tiny hometown with all its existential drama and high-key weirdness, and moved on to a big city, matured by all the crazy she experienced. She traded in her tight sweaters and plaid skirts for menswear pieces in homage to a certain FBI agent who will always have a little piece of her heart, and became a writer par excellence.

She is #goals on every level. In fact, I think I’m going to go re-read The Secret History. And if you haven’t read it ever, you should rectify that immediately.
